About
I was born & raised in Hawaii and relocated to the mainland when I was 18. Exposed to the culture in Hawaii, Alaska, California, Las Vegas, & Rhode Island, I decided to take all of my experience from many jobs and start my own blog in hopes to one day , open my very own business.
I have worked in almost every sector in customer service ranging from Hospitality to retail, but my passion was always cooking ! I took some classes, but I found it was just a talent that I crafted through out the years learning from family. I also have over 10 years of Cake decorating and Pastry arts, I learned my skills working in grocery stores and mastered my skills in a fine dining restaurant located in Las Vegas.
After leaving a corporate job in 2012 and getting married to an awesome guy. I decided to take a break from the work force, I created Nalani's Kitchen to share with the world what I love to do, cook !
Here in Nalanis Kitchen I specialize in what I call "Hawaiian/ Asian Soul food" ! Hawaii is a melting pot of many cultures, it created a bit of its own cuisine, drawing from influences from Hawaiian, Chinese, Portuguese, & American cultures.
My Mission
To inspire and delight all home cooks alike ! To show the world the true meaning of consuming organic foods, to show the world that organic consumption can be tasty and fun ! To dismantle the negative connotations of an Organic Lifestyle and to break down the system of consuming factory raised, industrial, chemical and hormone pumped food ! To connect with my roots as an earth child, to be a guardian of earth, and participate in sustainable farming and consumption therefore participating in the true process of food, nature intended to .
And to one day soon open a small cafe & food truck so that I can share my cooking with the world !!
